These children are at risk for violence and exploitation. Even the children who are in orphanages are typically underserved due to insufficient funds and resources.

Founded in 1908 by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary, 圣安妮小学 (SAS) was focused on providing a quality education option for the then largely migrant farm-workers in the community. Saint Annes maintains its commitment to founding Sisters’ policy of exercising a preferential option for the poor. While proud of its rich Latino heritage, SAS is a community welcoming people of all backgrounds. Migrant farmer-workers from Mexico worked side by side with those from Oklahoma and the Southern states as their children studied together in the school. SAS’s nurturing family environment and strong sense of community is evident by the many second, 第三, and even fourth generation families who entrust SAS to deliver a quality education to their children.

Families can spend up to two years at the 韦斯特伍德过渡村 while they stabilize and acquire the skills needed for independent living. Approximately 150 individuals live in the Village at a time with families of veterans making up forty percent of the residential population, and children accounting for two 第三s of the total population.
